By registering a domain name, you remove all reference to your Internet Service Provider from the email address or web page URL, so, for example, you can accept email to 'you@domain.co.uk' and have your web address as 'www.domain.co.uk'.
Domain names are fully transferable, so if you move you can take the domain name with you - meaning you never have to change your email address or website URL - unless, of course, you want to! Once the domain is registered (in your name), we hold the domain here on our DNS (Domain Name Service) servers and deal with the administration on your behalf.
Most domains can be registered without restriction and are available to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the suffixes do have certain associations either to indicate the type of organisation or the geographical location.
Usually domain names can be registered the same day, unless there are restrictions on ownership that need to be checked (e.g. .plc.uk domains). To register a domain, please contact us.

Pricing
All .co.uk, .org.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk, .me.uk domains are priced at £50 + VAT for a 2-year period
All .com, .org, .net, .info, .biz domains (except .gb.com, .uk.com, .eu.com, .us.com) are priced at £100 + VAT for a 2-year period
All other domains are priced on application.
These prices include all aspects of domain hosting, including requests for changes. There are no charges for transferring domains into or out of our control, unless the gaining/losing ISP charge us for doing so, in which case we will advise you and pass the charge on to you.
Validity
Alphanumeric characters and hyphens are valid for domain names, that is, a-z and 0-9. The minimum length of a domain name is 3 characters and the maximum 67. Domain names are not case sensitive and there is no limit to the number of domain names you can register (all of which can be used for email and web purposes).
You should not use the domain before you receive confirmation from us that it has been registered. This is usually in the form of the invoice for the registration being sent out to you. Be aware that some registrations can take up to 5 days, particularly in the case of .ltd.uk domains and similar domain names.
Provision for LTD and PLC companies
If you wish to register a .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domain, we will need your company registration number. The name must accurately reflect the name under which the Limited Company or PLC is registered at Companies House.
Additional Uses
Once you register a domain name, you can use it for email purposes. If you wish to also use it for web pages you will need to purchase web space - our Bronze, Silver and Gold Web Packages include a UK domain registration as part of the package price.

Legal
Oxinet offers its customers a range of domain names registrable through different organisations. Domains are registered as part of our wider Internet service provision and, as such, we retain full administrative control of the domain(s) registered on your behalf, ensuring smooth registration and renewal procedures.
If you register a domain through us, you will not only be subject to Oxinet's Terms and Conditions but also those of the individual Registrars. These are presently as follows:
Registrations made through Oxinet with Nominet are subject to the terms of Nominet's dispute resolution service (DRS)
Registrations made through Oxinet with Network Solutuions are subject to the Uniform Dispute Resolution policy as laid out by ICANN.

In the unlikely event that you have a complaint with our domain services, please contact us to resolve the issue. If you are still unsatisfied, please contact the appropriate domain registrar (Nominet, Network Solutions) who will be able to help you.
